St. Patrick’s Day growing up was a day of great celebration.  We would wake to little green presents hanging from the ceiling left by leprechauns.  These leprechauns would pull other shenanigans too, once I remember my dad’s cap having been placed in the freezer and the water was green (even in the toilet!)  Of course we wore only green, and pretty much everything we consumed milk, cupcakes, cabbage, and Irish soda bread.

After school, being an Irish dancer, I would change into my dance school uniform and head to the big party in the city and perform with my school for many drunken Irish!  Those were the days!

It has been a long time since I have celebrated St. Patrick’s day in this way.  Today did feel very much like a holiday though, it is Spring Break after all, and the sun was out.  I put on my best green and was even treated to Irish Soda bread!  Yummy!

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.
